Quests
In the words of one of our learners, Quests are “projects with friends.”
Our quests are most likely very different from any other class or activity you or your child have participated in. While the purpose of most classes is to teach a specific content, our goal is to use the content to create an environment that challenges the kids to learn and practice essential skills.
Quests are a series of challenges, activities, and projects based around a common theme and culminating in an end of session exhibition. Through stories, mysteries, experiments, skits, deep group discussions, hands-on projects, and friendly competition we help each other master essential skills such as leadership, teamwork, conflict resolution, goal setting, and time management.
We were all made to do something incredible in this world and Quests are part of the journey of uncovering and developing our greatest gifts.
I believe in this program because it provides an environment for students to interact with spiritually like-minded peers of different grade and age ranges, it provides an opportunity for students to practice full autonomy in what and how they learn, it provides a variety of challenges for students to take complete ownership of their education without the interference of outside pressures, it provides a safe place for mistakes to be made and excellence to be inspired based on the relationship between the guides and the students, it provides activities that promote the critical thinking necessary to equip students for the challenges they will face about their beliefs in this contrary world.
